Bullet Chess

Lately I've been playing a lot of 1 minute games in live chess, but I'm not sure if it improves my skill level as fast as, say, blitz games. Some people say bullet games are #!$@%, and some say that they develop chess instinct. What do you think?

Same here, but I haven't seen the responses...

My question to you: What do YOU think?

I see... well, I do have a lot of time to waste on weekends =D

Bullet chess is not real chess.

Bullet chess is fun, but i dont believe its improving your chess at all.

If you want to improve in long games, don't play bullet.

1. You learn to not think, in bullet you don't have time to think.

2. Since your opponent don't think you'll win many lost position's and lose many won positions, and I think this could mess up your positional evulation.

Good point- I'll try and play more long games (15 minutes maybe?) Thanks!

But then again if I have a few minutes to waste then bullet chess would be my choice.

I heard that zombie Carlsen is playing in a big tournament right now.

What about blitz then?

Avatar of pattrik

Do blitz games develop chess skills or are they just for fun?

=)

I meant to say something more along the lines of "non-chess improving entertainment"
