Calculation Speed

I am new to blitz chess.  When I was younger I just never played it.  Now
I am very slow, so my online rating is 1900+ but my blitz is only 1300+.
I would like to bridge that gap and raise my blitz rating.  Does anyone have
any tips or a system to improve calculation speed.
Any input would be most appreciated.  Thank you.

Use tactics trainer if you don't already, and just play quick and blitz games more often. Sorry, that's all the advice I really have, just practice makes perfect.

For a while I couldn't find my optimal blitz speed. First I tried 8min/game, then I found out that 5min+3sec Fischer time works much better. What is your "comfortable" blitz speed, perhaps you have not found it yet?

I would recommend simply playing A LOT of blitz games, the improvement should come in time. Plus solving a lot of tactics problems, here and on chesstempo.com.

I cant play blitz here, but OTB my blitz is better than my normal game.

I think:

Dont calculate too deeply

Trust your gut

If you find a speculative move that you're not sure of, play it anyway, chances are your opponent cant figure it out either.
