I'm sure, first I thought that my browser froze up but so I kept trying to click it but as soon as I moved the cursor away from it it turned back to arrow so I know my browser was ok. Then I noticed that the queen looked funny, I wasn't sure cause there was no other queens on the board to compare it to. I finally clicked the rook and it worked on the first try. As soon at the game was over I started a new one to look at the queen and it was different. It looked like a king but without the cross and 4 or 5 antennae looking things popping out of it.

I had that happen once, too. Couldn't select the Queen and had to pick something else.

Yes, we've had members complaining about this :( Unfortunately I haven't been able to replicate. It may be a cache and cookies problem. Could you try clearing your cookies and cache to see if this resolves the issue?
I've only had it happen once, but I clear my cache and cookies regularly. I was playing on the website(not using the app) and was on an iPad if that's any help figuring it out.
I also clear my cookies regularly and it also happened only once on the website. The funny queen image should give your developers a clue as to whats wrong.

Just had a situation where I moved a pawn across the board and could not get my queen or anything else, just kept going back to the pawn, this is the second time this has lost me a game time. Thanks for having this platform love it hope u can find and solve this glitch

If you use Safari, that could be the problem. I can’t use Safari for the same reason. Chrome will work, or use iPad app.
I'm new at chess.com and in one game I played I got a pawn accross the board but couldn't get a queen. There was a crown on the popup but it looked more like a king with antennae and when I clicked on it nothing happened so I had to get a rook. Why is that?
