I am a newbie and wanted to ask how I switch my pieces. I have seen it done but don't know how to do it. For example, I have seen the queen switch places with the king.

You may be talking about castling, where the rook and king both move on the same turn.

I am new and i have seen livestreams where people replace a piece with another and the previous piece just vanishes, is that a particular mode or something which i dont know.

Click "create challenge" > standard> custom setup then set up the position yourself
