Chess.com Blitz Rating System

Sort:
EightMinus1111

The average blitz rating on chess.com is below 1000.

A 1300 is in the upper 20%-- which is NOT normal.

This means that if your rating sucks on chess.com-- that is normal.

So-- remember while you are getting crushed out there kids, you're not that bad. Just treat your loss like a game against a Master (computer), and understand that the lesson was at a low cost. Your rating has very little to do with a true rating economy.

The only way to test your actual abilities is to play over the board in a sanctioned tournament where cell-phones ARE NOT ALLOWED.

***If you are trying to inflate your rating by using assistance (which is cheating), you are pushing the rating scale distribution of chess.com into an inflated left-handed bell curve. Don't be tempted to uphold your ego by ruining your own natural progression towards mastery.

I think that a lot of people use bots too. I was crashed by people with 800 ELO but their moves were excellent. I go to my local chess club and my rating is 1750. My rating is 1270 in blitz on chess com.
