Rest of chess.com thinks,"wow! what a wierdo"

'failure' me hates it.

HA HA

You can't help yourself!

You know you want to get involved in another rematch debate lol.

Where upon we will both end in a mutual disagreement for the 10th time in a row!

However, during the course of that mutual disagreement I will provide different Jelly Fish Pictures shaking things up.

Always on the look out for my chance to unleash a new Witty response!

thegreat_patzer

I know, we 'rematch' our rematch debates ALL the time.

I'm so pathetic at this game- not improving at all! totally stuck in my paltry patzer ways.

I feel like writing a "Goodbye dear chess.com" thread everytime someone brings it up. or is a "goodbye dear chess.com and by the way I want every single cent I paid on premium membership"  thread?

I get confused.

anyway I look forward to more witty, jellyfish-crushing zingers.

if you are trying to prove anything, you should try to explain why it is like that. you have already talked about your personal observations.

maybe chess in US attracts a lot of weirdos for some reason but my personal observations differ from yours anyway.

I've already put forth theories. And it seems you have a hard time reading between the lines. All you've really done is get defensive that I posted this so it's pretty clear to me.

Btw, your argument is the very definition of that logical fallacy... so I'm not sure what else you need? Google it?

just like you googled "logical fallacy" and read about "appeal to common practice"?

the simplest explanation is that this is simply how people react in the real world. you have narrowed it down and claim this is something that happens a lot specifically in chess community. the burden is on you and as long as you have not proved your so called theories, my argument is not a logical fallacy.

didn't that website mention just because you can name a logical fallacy, does not mean you have proved it? all you have done so far is talking about your extremely limited personal obersvations.

and did i say "put forth your theories"? and by thoeries do you mean this:

It's amusing to me, but lately I'm starting to feel pity for them, as if they have some type of social developmental disability. It's just sad how many people on here are like this, but it is understandable in a way. Chess seems to attract these types of people I've realized. Then again, it could also just be hurt ego.

you are such a good man for feeling bad for these sad, pitiful creatures. now keep blabbing about how i am offended and become defensive.

Oh boy. I have a feeling you are exactly the type of person I'm referring to in this post...

It's not just about pity. It's about awareness. By your logic, no one should mention any problems unless they know how to resolve it completely. You said I have "extremely limited personal observances", "collecting ridiculous data". Not true. I've observed chess clubs in person and I've met a ton of people who have quit playing chess because the community is so toxic. I've played over 20,000 chess games on here.

I have tons of experience with how the community operates and how much of this bs goes on. You on the other hand have only played 2000 games. And hey, maybe you've been lucky, who knows? But all you have to do is look in this forum (and other chess community forums) and you will see all sorts of posts about people getting offended or being insulted, people on both ends of the specturm, to know it happens a lot.

Only other communities as toxic are kiddies on xbox live or dota2 or stuff like that. But as I explained the difference between chess and other gaming communities in that the emotional immature chess players extend far into people of old age.

Everything is not black and white, friend. The "real world" as you put it is a varied and complex place. Not all communities are the same. There are differences and uniqueness in each. The chess community is more toxic than most. And the reason for it is perhaps complex as well.

and hat kind of proof do you want? Do you need me to keep a log of screenshots to show you the abundance of pathetic messages I receive? I doubt that would even change your mind anyways lol

What if I have to go to the restroom and just can't play a rematch?

AssaultDerp

Why are we having this argument? XD I just come on here to play chess and occasionally slap a game on a forum post to see if other people can tell me things I want to know about it. For example I'm wondering right now if there could have been a sensible defense to my attack in my most recent game. XD

Get OUT of chess.

So you're saying I should just be rude and use the restroom right there, though the smells may be so brutal it might as well be considered cheating, the manner in which I incapacitate my opponent? That seems way more rude than not allowing a rematch. Huh.
