Short pre-set times + extra seconds

Sort:
el_gato

Would you please create some short pre-set games in Live Chess with more extra seconds and fewer initial minutes? Such as: 1-3, 1-4, 1-5, 2-2, 2-3, 2-4. If I had to choose two favorites, I'd request; 1-3 and 2-3.

Here's why:

1. I prefer these time settings because I come across way too many Live players on here who start losing a game, then leave the game or stall out the rest of the game. This is a huge waste of my time to stare at the board for several minutes. So when I am only committed to 1 minute, I don't mind if someone stalls that minute away; but a three-minute stall seems like forever. A 1-4 game is about as long as a 3-0 game, but in a 1-4 game, I am not stuck waiting 3 minutes if some jerk loses a piece then checks out. This happens a lot on here.

2. People use the pre-set times to choose their games, and then they get automatically matched up against someone who chose the same time. So anyone choosing a custom time will often wait a long time for a game - not until someone sees your game on the chart and selects your dot. And I do think a lot more people would select the times I listed above if they did not have to hunt for someone who set up a custom game time like that.

Thanks, Gato

Whoops. I meant that a 3-0 game is about as long as a 1-3 game.

Did you get any feedback about this issue? That happens a lot to me either. I think that users should suffer ranking penalties with that behaviour. It shouldn't be difficult to record the time between last move and the end of game.

I agree this is a good idea

I had initially set up 30 minutes per game. Some how I did some thing and the set went to 5 minutes per game. I lost lots of game. My rating was 1210 to 1230. How do I get my original 30 minutes per game back. A help will be very well appreciated. Thanking in advance.

Does anyone else happened the same as me? And has happened several times! In matches of 5 | 0, being over time, often tens of seconds, that my opponent and, suddenly, when I respond to his move, I'm out of time. Other times it is the time of my opponent who does not advance when it is for him to play. I know this not only happens to me. Does anyone know how to solve isteo? Start thinking seriously about abandoning the Chess.com, because it seems that there is too much cheating, watching what others write here

Returning to clock problem in 5|0 games. Same thing is going on over and over again. This a message I've send a few minutes ago to PULGAS9: "Not again!! What is this? After Kg3 you had 0.00.0 and I had 0.02.3 in the clock's and I lost in time!??.."

How does it still happening? ... How to solve this? ...

It is frustrating to have the game won and suddenly the time of the opponent in the game turns red, goes down to 0.00.0, you continue with your remaining time, and be you who loses with time ...

This site is increasingly mysterious and maybe get out of here, because chess with cheating is not for me ...

Does not bother me to lose by having played worse than the other (which had played better ...), but not this way!

Can someone tell me how to get this situation to the attention of administrators Chess.com?

Thank you very much!

TO EL_GATO:

I completely agree with you. The lack of fair play of some idiots that roam around here is almost exasperating. Play is win or lose, or draw, and have to accept every result as a consequence of what we played. If you always want to win, play against himself ... So he always wins, even when he loses!

It is, at bottom, a matter of education ...

Best regards!

i also lost because of cheating/hacking time.

i_LYK_chess

how to ban cheaters?

FernandoSampaio

A good question, i_LYK_chess... Maybe people in charge can answer that.

No feedback at all,  pauloalexabreu.

Cumprimentos! (Best regards - for all who don't speak portuguese)

you don't need to ask, there's a custom setting called custom. click that and you can change the presets. reply or quote if that helped. Thanks!

Custom setting means nobody will join you, Mauve.

I believe that 1-3 games or 2-3 games would be very popular if they were created as default options. No timing level is popular when it is custom selected, as Chess.com knows, which is why they now warn you to expect a long wait (possibly forever) if you choose one.
