drawn by stalemate..... on my check mate move

I made my final check mate game in a game that took longer than it should have. Game tells me draw by stale mate!

It was white's move and there wasn't a legal move on the board. That is the definition of stalemate.

 

Instead of Kf8, Qc7/d7 would have been mate.

In those situations if you are not checking with every move you need to be sure his king has a safe square he can move to when it's his turn.
