Not so long ago it would auto claim it after 5 fold repetition (or 75 moves of no captures or pawn move).
Maybe they changed the auto draw it to the proper 3 fold and 50 moves? I don't know.

Not entirely sure but at first I thought it was just because I offered a draw earlier in a game or something but after the game I finished I know there is little to 0 chance that my opponent claimed that draw. I know for sure I didn't because I would have if I had the chance to do it before the result screen. I really don't know what's happening.
There is another thread about this. for reasons known only to chess.com they changed the 3 fold rep to automatic without bothering to tell anyone, not even forum moderators.

At least it's not just me then! Maybe it's because in online chess there are things such as premoves and in cases like that you might get cheated out of a draw that you would have claimed had you the time to make the claim? I don't know the reasoning but knowing that it isn't just some issue affecting me makes me feel a lot better. I had honestly thought it was an issue on my end.
Chess.com was the odd site for not auto claiming it. Looks like they fixed that.
And yes, particularly in blitz and bullet it was silly to expect people to have time to click the draw button. Maybe now that they're showing blitz championships between real players (like Naka and Carlsen) they don't want to look stupid... or rather GMs informed them that they were stupid in the first place.

one would think it would be in the best interest of Chess/com to provide a User-Guide (or some such thing) for newbies like me!? umm... maybe ther is a user-guide but how would i even kno? i jst find things by accident. i mean, if it were not for "serendipity" and a very helpful community, i would be overwhelmed (sadly for me... i'am easily overwhelmed)

You can google chess.com faq and find pages like this
Yeah it's overwhelming if you try to learn it all at once... I'm sure 99% of members don't know everything. Just consult it when you have a question or read it in bite sized chunks.
As well that some players aren't aware of rules such as 3fold, especially when it's not in consecutive order. Truth be told if the pisition is complicated enough then a 3fold could easily go unnoticed.
But wasn't there a setting somewhere? 'Automatically claim draw'? That would be effective. And only one of the opponents would need to have it switched on in order for it to work for both sides.
I just finished a blitz game that ended in threefold repetition, and while I definitely was playing for the draw it claimed the draw for me without me even pressing the draw button. My opponent had ways to avoid the repetition and was up in material (So I am almost fairly certain that my opponent had no interest in claiming it) so while I am definitely happy that the outcome was a draw, I did not make any movements yet to claim the draw with the button. This has been happening for a while and at this point I am not sure if I toggled some setting somewhere (not that I can find it.)
I am also not wanting these draws to be claimed automatically. If for whatever reason I am playing for the win and I stumble into a repetition I would rather be able to continue playing should my opponent not claim it.
This has been happening to me for a while and I am not sure if the rules were updated at some point to auto claim the draws (I have done a fair bit of searching online and cannot find anything). I'd just like to figure out what the heck is happening and why so I can fix it if there's a way to.
