Frozen games

This has happened to me four or five times in the last few days. Playing a game of blitz chess, my game freezes. The clock stops ticking and I can’t make any move. The game still allows me to chat to my opponent or resign. My opponents always say the game is progressing as normal from their POV. I typically either have to resign or lose when the clock runs down (even though I can’t see it). My connection is good and this has happened on multiple devices. Has anyone else experienced this lately?

Report it to the developers.

It happens to me too. I reported it through the contact form inside the app but nobody’s answered me :(

They don't generally answer unless they have a question.

You want them working on the problem, don't you?

Yeah same I’ve lost at least two or three games

This has been happening to me the last few days; from my perspective both clocks stop and I can’t move - but from my opponent’s perspective my timer is moving as usual

Same keeps happening to me. Mostly during 3 min blitz. Certainly 4 or 5 times today.

It’s been driving me mad. Soo many games lost due to this. I’m also playing 3/2

I'd faced with the same problem several times during last 3 days. Just last night I'd lose two game with it. This troubles never appeared before. Probably something become wrong with the CHESS.COM server?

Yes I have experienced this many times in the last week.  The only way to get the clock ticking is to offer a draw. I ask my opponent to NOT accept the draw. To my absolute shock if they are in a losing position, they have ALL accepted the draw. Where has basic human ethics gone ?!!

I had the same problem with my IOS App, it was a little bit frustrating, because I lost 3 games this way. Now I use the browser version of chess. Perhaps it was an IOS problem.

I am new to the app and it happened the first 4 games I played thought I was doing something wrong

Yet another thread and still no decent reaction from chess.com. Keep blaming the victim chess.com.

They did respond to other threads days ago.

The iOS-app is not fixed with version 3.9.15 (2). I’ve had luck with trying to give remis to opponent, when declined we can play again. Works for 2-3 moves at the time.

This is directed to the staff members at chess.com. Thank you for not responding to my email.

As you are aware there is a seriously frustrating issue going on with the clocks during game play. Many of us are experiencing this, and are loosing games because of it. Browsing through the forums, I’ve not seen or heard from you any kind of reassurance that you are trying to resolve the issue. It’s now been three weeks, maybe more.

Membership costs are certainly not cheap, and a vast majority of the players have a diamond or star next to their name. Therefore I gather that many pay to play. Funding is certainly not an issue, especially after the uprise of new players who were influenced by The Queens Gambit.

I hope to see the bug fixed soon, as I hope to enter the Chess olympics and carry the torch. I must wave to Old Matey whilst smiling.

Regards

There is a bug in the iOS app. They hope to have it remedied very soon. They put out a new version several days ago but reportedly need another thing fixed.

Yes, this is correct. In fact, the fix for iOS just went into review by Apple. I'm hopeful it will be released to everyone today. This is the 2nd build we've released to address the same issue, and this one seems very solid. We've not been able to reproduce the issue with failed reconnections or frozen clocks internally with it at all, so far. Fingers x'ed for a speedy approval of version 3.9.16 (2). We regret the frustration with recent versions and thank you all very much for your patience.

I've had exactly this problem on iOS  since 2 weeks ago or so. Today's update 3.9.16 (2) seems to have fixed it at last. I played six 3+2 today and all were fine.

Lag.com strikes again. Bullet is unplayable. Bilichess works fine meanwhile.
