Yes happened to me. It's lag. My first took 0.3 secs for me but after it got aborted and refreshed, it showed 15 secs. Thank god we got a new modem!

this just happened to me, my opponent blundered his queen and I was up 8 points and then the game aborted

I too have an issue of the game being aborted... always when I am in the winning position. I'm not sure if this is a bug or some kind of exploit that an opponent might use, but it denies me from levelling up my score after playing a long game that I spent a lot of effort on.

I was literally winning a 1267 bughouse guy while I'm on 653 and he aborted!!! Whathe?!?!?!
there is a very high possibility that chess.com restarted servers. But there will be a warning in livechess. When the servers are restarted all the games are aborted.

lol topic is still relevant and this is a community. I don't see anything wrong with answering this question.
Me my experience is players. Who makes me abandoned by time several times many time are Having programs like hackers and be aware that when they know they are in critical position they will bug you down once they know you IP address easily. They will log you off. You off Looks like you abandoned the game. But honestly thanks to chess.com IT professionals they finished this type of players.

How do I get out of being restricted. I started on the site 17 days ago. A number of my games were aborted for unknown reasons. I thought aborting if chosen player is too weak was allowed. I'm on 1100 and I did it twice to players below 500. I now know that is not allowed, but how do I get out of this. The message says to "create rated open challenge using standard time controls." WTF?? How do I do that? I'm happy to never abort games again - now that I know it is forbidden. I didn't expect trouble from the polite warning the system gave me.
it happenend to me also when I played with mav408. I am almost to win my game and he suddenly abborted the game. How did he do it after several moves. I think we have made around 10 moves and he abborted the game.

This happened to me just now. Opponent only had 16 seconds left. So annoying. I think mine might have been due to server reset as I think they do that nightly, but in the past I've always gotten a warning beforehand letting me know. Disappointed I didn't get that warning this time if that's what it was since I could have saved 20 minutes.
My game got aborted while I thinking of what move to play.
You do get a 15 sec warning if you game is about to be aborted

Greetings there old chaps. My game just got aborted for no reason, no connection countdown, no resignation, nothing. I am puzzled... This has never happened before... My internet is working just fine I immediately opened different websites including chess.com forum. I love chess.com... It's simple and nice, but I've been experiencing other problems... like when my phone or laptop (I use both to play chess) would say there is no connection and launch the countdown... I open all sorts of websites to see if indeed my internet is not working and everything opens, just chess.com doesn't. If only this could be sorted, then your website/app would be perfect.

Suddenly: "Game aborted". Nothing in the history of matches, just that.
YOU CAN'T POSSIBLY PLAY LONG CHESS IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHETHER ALL YOUR GAME WILL NOT SUDDENLY BE OBLITERATED BY SOME WEIRD, ABSURD BUG.
WHICH IS SUCH A RIDICULOUS ISSUE - GUYS, YOU LITERALLY HAVE THE BEST PLATFORM. I HAVE NOTHING BUT DEEP APPRECIATION FOR YOUR PLATFORM. IT'S AWESOME AND YOU'RE DOING GREAT THINGS FOR CHESS WHICH I ALSO APPRECIATE VERY DEEPLY.
