Just to all the grammar fascists out there, irregardless is in fact a word, contrary to popular opinion. My brother has an OED, and it is in there. It means the same thing as 'regardless', except with a deliberately humorous slant.

It being in a dictionary only proves there are a sufficient amount of idiots who don't stop using it (100% of the people I've heard use it do not do it was a deliberately humourous slant, they do it out of ignorance). Irregardless, if you take what the prefixes and suffixes mean, means "without disregard", not "regardless". Either say regardless or irrespective, don't mix the two.

I agree. Either way, it's still repetitive.  Honestly, I feel the same way about "undisclosed". Although seeing how using "closed" could be consfusing, I guess I understand that one.

The one that bothers me is resiliency. Resilience is the noun, and it always has been. I don't know who came up with resiliency, but it's a mistake, and all the sports broadcasters have taken it and started using it on a regular basis.

ok im just sayin here, dont mind me at all, but gg means owned. if your gona play me and not even say hello to me or anythin, and you say "gg" after you win, your basicly sayin 'hahahaha noob owned lol'. im just letin y'all know. if its a friends game or whatever obviously say whatever you want but if not, dont say gg to me. im just sayin.  kthxbai :)

So now you & some people here is telling that 'gg' means 'owned'.  Well 'gg' also means 'good game'.  If you have a problem with people putting 'gg' after they won, then you can solve it by shutting the chat each time you start a game.  Isn't that easy than to whine & complain & maybe even cry!  The solution is there.  All you need to do is look for it. But you choose to be 'Arrogant' by posting these type of column.

Do know note that I am entitled to my opinion & so are you.  Actually I found it even funnier that some people say that its OK to 'gg' when you lost but NOT OK when you win.  That is simply ridiculous.

Well, as a general rule, you shouldn't believe what the sports guys say. They're often wrong even about sports. Well, we can pretty much extend that to anyone in the news business; I've noticed most of the reporters and correspondants they hire don't know how to talk, and anchors often don't stick to just giving the news, but they give their opinion. Their rather influencial opinion. It's all sensasionalism to me.

Wait, I think we're highjacking the thread here. Uhm... yeah. So while we're on words and what they mean, I don't think it's a good idea to try to read more into words than they might actually mean without a concrete basis, such as body language or tone of voice, such as might occur with "GG" over the internet.

reallysimplesyndicat

try expanding it a little so that people understand its a sportmanship thing, not a gamer faggotry deal.

Erm, to be strictly literal, gg means 'Good game'. How you interpret it is your own choice I guess. (Personally, I say gg after every game, win or lose, if the opponent said anything or not. *shrug*)

I agree with this post. I say gg even when I lose. Its a courtesy in my opinion, no sense in reading too much into this. Its also quick:)
