Just a fun thing I thought of from my old Commodore 64 "Basic" programming days. The memory we had in 1981 -- 64000 bytes TOTAL Random Access Memory..let's just say if RAM were an anesthesia, 64K couldn't put your thumb to sleep if it had a piano on top of it.

8" Floopy Disks -- Those WERE the days when "WALL STREET" had the "Cell Phone" that looked like a vacuum cleaner was stuck to his head 
And it cost a few GRAND!
I think those 8 inch floppies were even before "Wall Street," (1987), those were like the days from Reagan getting shot and the Rubix cube.

My Dad used punch cards! SO I guess I shouldn't complain. I'm a meteorologist and the leap in computer power from the 70s to now (as applied in meteorological modeling) is just insane!
And speaking of that scene where Gordon Gekko was on that cinder block-sized cell phone on the beach calling Bud Fox...that scene has always struck me as having some serious homosexual undertones. Am I alone in thinking this?
Anyway, great movie! I've seen it countless times.

The Rubix cube was 1970s
Reagan was shot in 1981
New computers had drives for eight-inch floppies through the mid-1990s, but 3.5 inch floppies were standard by 1990.
I live very near the Secret Service Agent that took the bullet in the stomach. Agent McCarthy is now a police chief and he's a great guy.
The Cube was fun for a while. Then in the 80s we got PacMan, Missile Command, Asteroids, Galaga.. and I lived in the Arcade :)
