Have you friended each other? Search for them in members then hit the friend button. Then it will be easier to play against each other.

We did, we can see each other on the friends tab. How can she unblock me? She made a mistake and somehow blocked me, she doesn't even know how that happened in the first place.
I can't tell how it would be possible to block someone, sorry. The only thing I can say is to go under MY HOME - Friends, and click challenge beside her name. If that doesn't work try to contact one of the chess.com admin or staff.
To unblock someone click your name up on the top left corner of the website (left to help) from there, scroll down to "My Account" and click "Edit my Privacy Settings". Go to the bottom of the page and you will see your blocked users, go into the box and find the username and click unblock.
In the Online Chess settings, there are many settings related to challenges. Make sure all those are correct. There is also a setting in Privacy Settings under Account. You can also see who you've blocked in Privacy Settings.

A friend of mine and I joined 2-3 weeks ago and we are yet to be able to play each other. we can't seem to invite one another and we tried everything we could think of and nothing. We end up playing other people we do not intend to, but never each other. We checked and rechecked out settings, we can see each other, we send invites which neither of us is getting and for some reason this just not working or us. Is there a problem or something we're doing wrong? We just tried another hour or so and still nothing.
STATUS EDIT - it seems she blocked me by mistake and now she can't find how to unblock me. She read that this action is irreversible? is that true? Is there no way to unblock someone you blocked inadvertently?
