The new interface and features are so much better.
Great stuff
Restoring seek colour choice would be helpful for those of us used to this site's earlier setup (along with how many other sites operate). It's very useful for helping learn a new opening by playing one colour a dozen or two times in a row. Even if the choice were added back for unrated games only, that would be helpful.
Moving pieces takes quite a bit of getting used to. I've been here several weeks and I'm still getting fouled up at times. If my cursor 'drags' over the board at all, it tends to 'grab'/affect a chunk of the board which changes into a smear of colour and the piece moving function stops working, until I fumble around and undo that. Not so terrible for longer games when I've time, but often disruptive for bullet games.
I'm not seeing any difference when I tried the 'full board option' just now (other than it not working on 800x600 but is manageable on a larger resolution). I'd hoped we'd be trying to get a "board only" webpage, for those in many, many countries with mostly dial-up who are finding all the additional features in the Live Chess section add unreasonably to their lag. With a 'board only' webpage, they could close out a webpage with all those other features and leave just their board webpage open while playing, (along with the draw/resign links).

ps. Adding 'flip board', 'moretime' and 'adjourn' options would be nice. Handicapping provisions would be marvellous (it would allow a wider disparity between players to nonetheless end up with a pleasantly competitive game).
pps. By far the most annoying feature on this site are the ads with NOISE (talking commercials full of raucous music). Rare in other sites, they seem to abound here, yet this is a chess site where visitors might reasonably expect peace and quiet. Sure, I can use 'mute', but many of this site's features (especially the live chess playing) rely on sound cues.

#1 - coming soon
#2. minimum res preferred is 1024x768 otherwise it may show as problematic viewing. It will work though on a 800 * 600 res if you have inside co-ordinates on a small board.
#3. Many sites do use audio ads and ours don't show in live chess. You can stop seeing them on here :)

being almost 50 and very much challenged by the computer normally this blows to watch live games l will try back in a few days but if it's still complicated there are other sites i guess
My suggestion: give it at least one week. My sense of it is that we've just had a 'beta' version (untested by regular users) foisted on us, and there'll be lots of finetuning during the first week or so based on our reactions.
I think it would be nice for a site survey to show up shortly, asking for input as to what we like, and dislike, about the new Live chess format.
It would I'm confident, be much easier on us if we could 'choose' between old and new version (but then, who would tough it out with the new version?).
