Magnus Carlsen is still the no.1 chess player in the world and clearly better than everyone else, but I don't think he is as strong as his 2014 or 2019 self (where he had his peak ratings)
The current youngsters (e.g. Gukesh, Nodirbek or Arjun) have great potential and might overtake Carlsen in the future, but it will be very hard to do so, and currently, Magnus is still much better than them

See, when you mean by "over", I do not understand which context you are talking about.

In terms of retirement, Magnus had hinted last year that he would keep playing till 2030, so no, he is not over in this context.

In terms of accuracy, Magnus's games are highly accurate but have decreased by 2.3 percent over the last 3 years. But since Magnus is an intuition-reliable person, he has the ability to use his creativity and gain back his rating

He Is Leaving.

Magnus, of course.

The Magster has held the #1 rating for 14 years STRAIGHT, without interruption. He would've had it for 15.5 years had he not had a tiny slip in 2010 & dropped to #2 very briefly.

That's astounding in this era with so many great players, computers, great training methods, so many tournaments (otb & online), etc. Just amazing.

I see the OPs point now. 14 years straight. He's finished. You don't see that kind of decline every day.
