Is there known exploit to make an opponent to disconnect?

was just playing and then after a strong move got disconnected, next play was flawless. I’m not trying to insult anyone, but curious about this case is an accident or a statistic.

No. There is no way.

Each player connects separately to the server. There is no direct interaction.

Well that's what I was told.

The idea of separately maintained connections from each player with moves relayed by the chess.com server seems reasonable enough.

The other point was that if someone could hack the connection, they'd be using their skills for things a lot more important than winning a chess game.

Well, I checked this guy plays and didn't find any other case like this, so case closed. Just was curious if I'm alone saw thing like that happy.png

The simple explanation is Chess.com's poor servers. They have money for a lot of things but not maintaining stable, fast connections to their servers. I don't know the technical side but hey, it disproportionately affects players from some countries more than others. I lose 40.3% of my games to time and I am moving as fast as my opponent on-screen so how is it possible. Invisible lag, poor connections and false connection strength. Everything is designed to make every person feel that they are playing an equal game but some have an advantage. Go to Lichess.org and you will rarely see the same. I have a very low loss to time there

But it happens to me too sometimes as well, I make a strong move that really makes them think, they disconnect and their next move really does me good. And it’s not like they playing smart the entire match. I don’t know if there’s some other thing where they put the situation in and hit run to see what their best move should be, or what.

You are simply very far from their servers geographically, I really feel for you sad.png

I hate it when I see opponent move and the same moment my time reduced by 5-10 seconds. This really annoying.

In the last week, this same scenario has happened to me three times. Whether it's some exploit or just inadequate servers, it makes me reconsider paying for a membership at chess.com.

I left chess.com 2 years ago for lichess after they got into politics.

Disruptions to the connection can occur anywhere along the line, from your computer/phone across all the servers and other network hardware. It may be out of the control of Chess.com as well as yourself. Many people don't experience disruptions and are able to play just fine.
