I haven't run into this before. Was this a threefold repitition after moves 53, 55, and 57? I tried to claim it but white had already moved

Yes, it was and you should have been able to click the draw button right after making the move; so unless your opponent had a conditional move or happened to be on at the time, that should have worked. You may also be able to offer the draw, then make the move but it has been a while since I have tested it.
