Lag is a real issue, the way you can fix it is:

1. Get a better or stable internet connection- This means to get a better payment plan for your wifi if you can get it or if you can connect to a more stable connection with better wifi, modem/router then that would be good as you can get better results.

2.Play with less traffic- This means to play with less devices connected to the internet when you are lagging. The lesser the devices connected, the smoother the internet connection, but even with this you are still not excempt to some internet connection issues, but it does help.

3.Realize your time zone-Sometimes in different time zones there are better connection period than others. For example I seem to have the best internet connections(stable enough) from 9:00 a.m- 8:30 p.m, however once the clock hits 9:00 p.m all througout the rest of the night, my internet is terrible. I assume because my service user has to much traffic at that time(even at night.)

Those are some useful tips that may seem obvious but they are definitley helpful, if you want to give  give it a try and perhaps you will have better experiences in your games. Again have in mind these will not perfect your internet connection, but at least in my case it has helped me.

It is a competitor site, and you are not allowed to mention them in the forums unless you block some of it out.

UppityEelChesskid

Everyone who has mentioned competitor sites flat-out has been reported.

The topic is still relevant.

How do I make the mods aware of this forum topic so that they can remove all posts with the L word and the chess25 word?

Cavatine

i agree that the lag is a problem and that is why i stopped trying to ever play 5 minute games on here.  somehow for a couple weeks or a month 5 minute would sometimes be OK and sometimes it would just freeze for a while and then when I reconnected it would tell me I'd disconnected and therefore lost.  it is hard to imagine that the site could be so poorly built that my opponent would be brilliant enough to manipulate the timestamps.  is it not encoded enough?  There are always other chess sites, if you look.  There is another completely (nearly) different game that I love, completely different server, that also has the same problem with lag in the system somehow, incomprehensible to the users.

yeboahs_witness

Why is lag so bad on here? I've played on various chess sites in the past, and never has lag been an issue for me. Since I started playing regularly on chess.com there have been many times where I've lost the game due to the moves 'stuttering' or having a slight delay in being displayed.

sndeww

I've never encountered bad lag.

santiagomagno15

that has happen to me but only in puzzle battle

UppityEelChesskid

It basically is a curse word in the forums. And che$$25 is.

UppityEelChesskid

I really have no lag troubles here.

Account_Suspended

I'd opine here but I am worn out.

AthenaTheChessCub

It seems obvious to me, the site with the most ppl playing is going to be laggy, what do you expect? And Iicze$$ is awful, honestly I prefer chesskid to it
