If you are spectating a game, and you type something in the chat, and the players don't have their chat blocked, can they see your messages?

The players cannot see your chat during the game play. However, after the game ends the two players automatically enter the spectator chat room, and can at that point see your messages.

Can they only see comments during the match, or are the chats archived along with the game itself?

Live chats will show on the game after it completes, I think but once the game is closed, they are gone as they're not currently archived.
