Erik, I know...I downloaded the day the update appeared. I have used it and for the iPhone it is an improvement, although for the iPad I am not sure it is any more user friendly than just using safari browser. My problem is that I like to read articles, look at game showcase and look at threads that often have diagrams with variations. NONE of these are usable in an iOS/apple mobile environment. Are you telling me that there is simply no hope for the millions of iOS users unless apple revamps it's mobile browser? Do you know if there is a third party browser that doesn't have this problem...btw solving the lack of sound issue would be nice too in the browser. Is this fixed in the iPad/iPhone update?

Erik, re: live chess app, it would also be nice if the display would allow for 180 degree rotation...this is because if the power chord is plugged into the iPad it can be very difficult to hold the device comfortably with the plug sticking out ofthe bottom. Of course 90 deg rotation would solve this but perhaps would be more difficult to implement because of interface needs?

Erik, I just played a bit on my ipad with livechess app.  It works very nicely, including the sound :)

It would be nice to say "gg" to an my adversary after the game...

Is the idea to allow members to organize tournaments in live (like in turn-based chess), or to have tournaments run by the chess.com staff ?

Naturally only for those that would like to have these features.

I like the webcam idea.  That way you can be like Lasker and launch virtual "gas attacks" on your opponent with your cigar or whatever ;)

They are set by the server.

Webcams no.

Post game analysis and Analysis boards already have 'Voice' on them, and are for platinum and diamond members only. Anyone under platinum can listen but not chat.

Im  sure bandwitdh requirements would make webcams not worth the cost/benifits.

Go on...Big Boss..........We love you...

This promises to be a very popular feature even among people who would otherwise not bother about correspondence tournaments (because of the length of time they take), so expect to have your servers flooded with new traffic from live chess.  An interesting technical challenge, particularly because live chess is such a time-sensitive feature already.  I look forward to seeing how well it works, and keep my fingers crossed for the final weeks of development of this promising feature.

I hope this is done by next weekend :)
