Lost on time

I've now lost 3 games on time.  Why and how can I provide more time?

It seems as if you're spending too much time thinking - don't worry, that happens to me. When you're playing blitz chess, or even standard chess, you need to pace yourself and know when you should be thinking more. For me, I don't spend more than 5 seconds on a developing or re-capturing, but when I am in a position that needs a lot of thinking, I don't hesitate to think. Try to play some more games to get the hang of blitz chess, and pace yourself at a pace where you can make ~60 moves in your amount of time.

Blitz chess is one thing, but I'm talking about a regular game.  Is there a setting that controls the time?  And how do I know how much time I've used against this quota?

What is regular game? 10 min, 15 min, or you are talking about CC chess?

Started Live Chess.  Part way through, the comupter said I lost on time.  Does that mean I took more time than permitted on a given move? all my moves combined?

You set the time when you issue or accept a challenge.  There are two numbers.  The first indicates the total time allowed for all your moves.  The second indicates any increment you may get after each move.  For example, 5 5 would mean five minutes with a five second increment after each move.
