in my other account, I had 700 ratings at bullet and I somehow was in second place in the Bullet Arena :/ (My banned other account: CoolPineAppleGuy)

If you are low rated, you will only be paired with other low rated players

I don’t believe 1050 players are making no blunders. Do you run your games through an engine after each game?

I am probably one of the types of players that infuriate you.  My bullet rating is very low, but my daily rating is over 1800.  I have learned to play solid moves at bullet speed, but at bullet speed I am unable to formulate any good plans or take advantage of blunders.  I lose a lot of games on time.

Quite a few people have rating structures like mine:

Daily - 1800+, Rapid 1500 or 1600, Blitz = 1200 (I finally broke 1400, but was less than 1300 less than a year ago), Bullet - 1000-1200.

I am working hard on my openings, so hopefully this will improve my play at faster speeds.  My apologies for infuriating you, but I guarantee that no cheating is involved.  I just don't play fast enough to raise up my rating for significant periods of time.

Your post doesn’t infuriate me or whatever (although I will admit really solid players are annoying to play against) happy.png

what I was saying is people around 1000 blitz/rapid are there because they make many mistakes and can’t capitalize on many mistakes either- so have you ran some games through an engine or something to find errors in your games? Or do you only analyze by yourself? Because if you only do the latter, it’s difficult to spot mistakes (I can’t even spot mistakes in my own games after going over them)

I use the engine to spot mistakes.  Especially for daily games, I analyze via engine over and over and over.  I try to analyze my faster games at least once, and my goal for moving forward is to have one game at each speed and analyze them for longer periods of time, including going over variations from selected critical positions.

Maybe, just maybe, I can train myself to find good lines more successfully than I have in the past.

For daily play, this has been quite successful as my rating is actually kind of decent happy.png  I am hoping to apply what I have learned from my daily games to faster rating levels.  Additionally, I am working hard on my openings and end games to improve my overall level of play.

I dont understand whats going on. They dont blunder like low rated players that they are, they make good moves.

People sometimes make good moves and have an awesome game despite being low rated/average. Maybe they might have screwed up every now and then, but sometimes it goes unnoticed. Millions of accounts have been closed for cheating and every cheating is bound to happen.

this site doesnt check for people who use engines. resulting in a bunch of low elo cheaters who bash their way up the rankings. this is why im switching to lichess, unless they fix this problem

and yes i know they are cheating, i have played against stockfish many times and know its patterns so either almost all of the low elo players on this website play very similar to stockfish or chess.com cant bother to try to stop people from using engines

I am pretty sure lichess has cheating too.

that one bullet game I played where I had 97 accuracy and lost after making a blunder

Avatar of B1ZMARK2

He had like 1 second left, I probably would've won if I played kh3 even if it were still a draw by perpet check

I've noticed this too - when I first started playing I was moving into the 1300+ range. Lately every game that I've played I've either run out of time (but I have NEVER have won this way) or I get beaten by a 1050 level player who makes zero blunders throughout the course of the game. It's infuriating.

well play a different time control then? how is it the opponents fault youre playing too slowly especially in slower time control? also on the game you submitted you HUNG YOUR KNIGHT ON THE NINTH MOVE. ofcourse he will be good when you play like a 400. you also blundered on the 11th move

The problem is fixed now it's hard for people to cheat on chess.com

I think, to be fair, players who have an elo rating of 1000 to 1300 would be at an intermediate level.

I don't think the starting rating for intermediate players would be 1200 otherwise

I think people are just getting better at chess. The 1200 of today is the 1500 of yesterday. And sometimes I’m in the right mindset and destroying people while other times I’m losing badly. The intermediary level is a mix of good and bad games, the lack of consistency is what keeps people down at that range.

Avatar of NotMagnusCarlesn

A lot of people might just have the skills of an 1800 because they play OTB a lot or something but they set themselvs as intermediate when they made their account because they didn't really know what rating each choice (new to chess, beginnger, intermediate, advanced, etc) corresponded to. So they play very well, but they are still only going up because they are looking for the spot where they will enter their true rating range, if that makes any sense.

I’m about 1000 rated, and the engine says I’m a 1400. Maybe that’s the reason I usually crush my opponents.
