Move confirmation

In following this thread, have we seriously been asking for this for 6 years and we still don't have this functionality?!  For crying out loud, this is nuts!  Just make it an option for those of us that want it.  Twice in the past month, I've hung my queen because of my damn old-man tremors.

Get to work, Chess.com!  And then... GET OFF MY LAWN!  angry.png

It is unfair that ipad users have it and laptop don't.

Is it some sort of bug or is there actually a reason for it??

This is a hoax. iPad players have a significant advantage over browser players. It shows sloppy mentality of the developer here. Its also a reason why I play mostly on lichess. There you have this option.

Just buy a better mouse!

Move confirmation does not only on Ipad exist. It does also on Android!!! But not on lap top...

Can you please implement "confirm" button? It has cost me many games. The android app has the confirm button. So i win more games on phone. Can you please implement this?

No. We do not want an extra "confirm" button.

Then turn it off. And generally, it should be off by default.

I vouch for the desktop/notebook version of web brower to have a confirm button also, please add it, doesnt make sense to have on the phone but not in the PC

ilputtino

Yes, I totally agree! No sense to have this feature in the notebook version and not in the PC. Please add it!

You really don't get the point. Turn it off for your opponent? Very clever. The point is (for all the dudes here who don't read the thread carefully) ! IF THE OPPONENT PLAYS ON IOS OR ANDROID HE HAS THE ADVANTAGE OF MOVE CONFIRMATION WHILE PEOPLE PLAY ON BROWSERS DON'T HAVE THIS ADVANTAGE ! I hope now even the last hillbilly got the point.

But the advantage, which I view as cheating, should be taken away from those who have it,  rather than giving it to everyone.

True though, whichever solution chosen should be the same for all players.

But letting people move a piece, take their hand off to look at the position, then grab the piece and move it back, just goes against the rules of the game, and what people are asking for is the computer equivalent to that OTB example.

Calamity_Destroyer

Thats also something to consider. I agree, remove the feature for everyone or implement it for everyone.

NinjasOfOrca
No - it's an option you can turn on or off

An extra "confirm" would be detrimental to anyone under time constraints. Bad idea.

The idea is this would be a on off setting, just like in the mobile app.  If you don't want it, don't use it

The option to toggle the move confirmation would be nice for rapid games at least, where the half a second to confirm isn't (generally) a big deal, but one blunder is.

It was a real shame to accidentally play 17. ... Bb1 this after spending 25 minutes on this game!

I imagine it would be even worse later into games with longer time controls.
