An optional confirm move setting in live chess would be very useful to players who use eye gaze (or similar) technology to play on PC. If you are unable to use your hands to move pieces with a mouse or trackpad, mistakes in live chess are more likely. I have witnessed this firsthand playing with someone using this technology; it was very frustrating for them. Please consider the functionality, it would at least make the site more accessible.
Move confirmation
people calling this a cheating don't understand that sometimes your hand slips or your touchpad and you move your piece to complete different position than you wanted and sometimes you just give away a won match
I just see so many people with the same problem "Can you please implement "confirm" button? " as an option. Did they provide a solution???
Consistency is all I ask. Don't deprive a player of features depending on their platform. I am at a disadvantage when I make mistakes on my computer due to the lack of said button, yet this is not the case for a mobile user.
People have been asking for this feature for SIX years. Add it and make it optional. Enough already.

An extra "confirm" would be detrimental to anyone under time constraints. Bad idea.
They don't have to make it mandatory. On the iOS app it's an optional feature - why not on the web browser version?
I don`t understand this discussion. There are soooo many settings you can individually adjust, but that is too much to ask? I play more on my phone than on the browser for that simple reason. It could easily be installed as an optional feature, so those who want to use it, can use it and those who don´t just don´t. I would be really grateful, if that feature would become a thing. pleaseee make it happen. Specially as a beginner it is really helpful.
Then turn it off. And generally, it should be off by default.
You really don't get the point. Turn it off for your opponent? Very clever. The point is (for all the dudes here who don't read the thread carefully) ! IF THE OPPONENT PLAYS ON IOS OR ANDROID HE HAS THE ADVANTAGE OF MOVE CONFIRMATION WHILE PEOPLE PLAY ON BROWSERS DON'T HAVE THIS ADVANTAGE ! I hope now even the last hillbilly got the point.
But the advantage, which I view as cheating, should be taken away from those who have it, rather than giving it to everyone.
True though, whichever solution chosen should be the same for all players.
But letting people move a piece, take their hand off to look at the position, then grab the piece and move it back, just goes against the rules of the game, and what people are asking for is the computer equivalent to that OTB example.
I agree with you on the last part. Its super helpful to visualize your move and shouldn't be allowed. Instead of placing your piece there for the confirmation, it should just draw an arrow.
