New App Keeps Crashing

New app upgrade keeps crashing when I am playing against the computer.

Perhaps, the mobile formated site may work better?

Would this be better placed in “help and support”?

I’m not sure.

I am going to restorer my phone and try it out again.

Last thing I want is disconnect on a live 15/10 game.

I prefer the app because the board is bigger, faster and uses next to no data.

We will see how it goes today.

Hopefully, restarting your phone will resolve the problem.  Also, maybe there's another app update.  Likely, you've already done this, but maybe the app needs to be updated again too.  Best of luck fixing this.

Really odd. I play a practice game and then take back the moves and it crashes.

It’s the latest version upgrade yesterday and hence the crashing.

I guess I wasn’t alone based on the most recent reviews.

I may have to run my engine prep on the other site until the next upgrade is out.

Yeah, Pass & Play is currently broken.  Live games are fine though.

I may play some 15/10 this weekend if that’s the case.

I've had inconsistent crashes over the past several weeks. Sometimes during live games, other times when I'm only opening the app. (Android app, regular updates, Lenovo tablet.) I say "inconsistent" because other times it works without problems and I can't reliably reproduce the crashes.

At least once, it crashed TWICE during the same rapid game but I was able to restart the app and finish...

Same issue; I play practice games against a variety of AI engines, and when using the back/forward buttons a few times to gauge which move would be my best option, the game crashes.  The crashing is very predictable - it occurs *every time* when using the back/forward buttons.  This happens on both the MacOS and iOS versions of the game.

I am on my iPhone pro max 13 with the latest system  upgrade and app release; crashes. It’s stupid annoying because I get an interesting middle game position and I want to play if 2-3 different variations and boom, crash! Lose the game.

The older release was way better! Stable, fast and never crash; the only reason why I play on my phone.

Only advice chess.com tells you is to restart your app lol.

Can someone from chess.con please give some information on when this bug gets fixed … this has been documented for months …

… use back/forward buttons … crash - bye-bye game  my annual membership just went up but the apps quality went down.

This website crashes ALL THE F-ING TIME since the new crap update. Get some real programmers to bring this back to the old reliable system or GO F YOURSELVES.

I like chess but I'm not a nerd tho
