By adjusting the size of the panes (dragging the borders), I can get a bigger board from the new/premium version actually.
But in general if you aren't using the premium features, I guess it's mostly a question of aesthetics. :) The old one does look more like the rest of the site, so points for consistency..?

it happened when i anticipated d4 in a sicilian i was playing. i took before he moved, he did something else and my clock kept running.(i own that) the next time RXRa1, i anticipated this one and took back with the rook. i let go a SPLIT second before that satisfying meaty sound registered on my laptop, cussed up a storm for about ten seconds( a @%^# lifetime in blitz), made another move and he won the other rook
Is it just me, or is the old basic live chess better than the new live chess?
