New Logic for Auto-pairing and Seek Graph!

 The pairing logic due to lag difference is not clear anywhere in the thread .Someone plz clear me what's wrong with people with slow or high lag connection? . It's them who are being punished by some timegap, not their opponent.Not everyone is blessed with high speed Internet and/or have reason to use wireless connection.I see no reason of this logic if they want to play standard time controlled game.If the change is due to the forum whinners whining due to aborted games then it's  pathetic.Just a guess many people from the 'third world' will be effected.

People with slow lag get to play together. Are you saying that you think that it is a punishment to have to play against players with slow lag?

I am not sure if chess.com considering People with high lag(slow Internet) with them who frequently abort for disconnection.Both are different imo.I have wireless connection and it dont disconnect at all.It shows a red bar in the game and for the new logic I cant pair with people with good connection(green bar) who are majority,So unless I change my ISP  to play here I have to wait a lot.I just wanted to know the reason of change authorities brought here.Was it very necessary?I have no problem with the other logic of 'custom seek'.Infact that's really good,people of different rating pool can play together now......

at 2250 bullet, i had to wait up to 5 minutes to get a game (seek settings -400 rating). what's even funnier is i end u playing someone who is much weaker than i am, i play one or two games, re-seek and still end up with the same players.

it's impossible to get decent opposition on this site, why do you even have rating settings graph when chess.com purposely tries to pair you up with -150 players, it defeats the whole system....

i dont know why they changed it but i used to always find a match within a minute.  now it is 5 minutes or sometimes longer.  i am looking for a new site.  anyone have a good one?

do you abort a lot? have bad lag?

I would guess that you have to wait because you only play against other players that don´t follow the Fair Play rules.

You are in a smaller pool of players because of your past behaviour.

lol i follow fair play rules.  i just like to give friendly advice to people who are playing the wrong game.  chess is not for everyone.  some people take this advice poorly.

anyway it is a bad idea to split your playerbase.  all you are doing is causing there to be fewer matchups for people in each section.

Perhaps they are just not interested in taking advice from someone so poor at chess themselves.

I praythee, entertain us. Give us the exact wording of that "friendly advice".

well for example if i am in the midst of a disappointingly easy game i might say "have you tried checkers?  checkers is the game for you"

because chess really is just too hard for some people.  i genuinely believe they could have more fun with an easier game. 

its like when someone doesnt know how to swim.  you dont say "you can do it friend!  swim across that lake!"  if you are really trying to help them you say "maybe stay out of the water."  thats me.  the helpful guy.

or its not always advice.  sometimes when i make a good move i can tell they are upset because they dont move for a minute or two.  then i sometimes say "dont feel bad.  you did the best you could."  to try to cheer them up.

but that doesnt always help for some reason either.  who can say what goes on in the minds of these angry people.

Gosh yes, that certainly sounds helpful and nice.  In fact I wish someone had told me the same thing years ago before I got addicted. 

To a lower rated player, your "advice" could sound patronizing.

Why customized rating range makes me wait way longer(at least 3 minutes until I get a game for 45|45) - I just don't want to play people with rating points much than mine. I set my rating range into [-20;+∞), and until that change I didn't feel any difference in search time.

Go back and read posts 21 and 24 by staffmembers.  Apparently anything less than + or - 25 will cause a delay.  See if bumping your number from 20 to 25 reduces your wait time.
