On occasion I will abort a game because it's a 2 | 12 instead of a 10 | 0, both of which have the same spot on the graph thingy.
omg there's a pawn at the door DRAW DRAW DRAW
You can se what the time controls are before the game even starts. I hate it when people abort me, usually before a move is even played. I've heard that some people do it so they don't get black, which is terribly pathetic.
Sure, if I sit around and wait for someone else to grab the game first, I can see what time controls I would have played.
I abort maybe 1 out of 10 games I accept and here is my reasoning behind it.
1) on accident grabbed a game /w a wrong time control
2) my opponent takes more than 15 seconds to make the first move
3) on accident i grabbed an unrated game
4) I had something in real life come up like a phone call and took that so i abort it
I never have aborted a game based on my opponents rating, or the color of my pieces.
What posseses someone to offer a draw at the first or 3rd move or just ditch the game a couple moves in?
Also, why are about half the games aborted?
Help me make sense of this madness.
