opponent lost in space and time...
Opponent lost in time
there can be a delay due to lag which may look to you as if his time runs out. in actuality, he did move within his time limit, but because of the lag you didn't see him make the move until a little bit later.
also possible are "premoves" in which he can make his next move (and so on) before you've made yours. it's one of the options on live chess here.
Doctor Who used to get lost in time. He would be transported back to an earlier century, and then lose his memory or something. Maybe that's what happened.

man that show was nuts.
I had an opponent who got lost in time once. We eventually found him in the Cafe de la Regence in Paris 1858, playing skittles games against Paul Morphy.

Was he Class C or above? Was he winning easily? en have to say

He was an FIDE master, but Morphy was beating him game after game. I think in that alternate time line, Morphy went on to play Steinitz in a match.
I think Magnus and Aron were playing each other at another table, and when Aron lost, he threw his arms up, crying "Why must I lose to this pipsqueak?" in German. Carlsen played a King's Gambit as I recall.
Unfortunately Nimzowitsch's words were also lost and have been traced to a 12th century Mongol yurt. We do have a clue in that the words apparently meant "conquer everything" in Mongolian.
Wasn't Fritz(12, I think) very angry when the waiter delivered it's beer to Petrosian and it was so furious that it hounded Petrosian and the waiter so long that Fritz lost on time to Capablanca. Rybka is also have said to lose on time it's game with Karpov, but it was changed based on lag issues. Karpov refused to go the 10 minute walk from his room to the chess bar they were supposed to play in so they played over the internet. Ruy lopez was playing Polgar, and was quite angry when he lost a piece out of the opening as black playing against the opening he invented, but then surprised Polgar by opening with d4 and gained a pawn(she was premoving), but Polgar defended well.
Wow! You saw a lot more than I did. The key question here is: did you see franli2k's opponent there?
That's why I was trying to bring it back full circle.
In fairness though, the original poster franli2k joined in on the joke right away with his reference to "Locutus," a character from Star Trek: The Next Generation, so I think we are pretty safe.
They told me he was being defeated quite easily by Andersen, but Tal came and franli2k's opponent stormed out for some reason. He was obliterated by aliens when the matter was being cleared up. Fisher was demanding an apology from Kirzan Iljuzhminov, who told them to beam him up and then explain the matter, but as we all know, if an alien tries to beam someone up and misses, the person dissapears into space, and they hit franli2k's opponent.
My opponent lost in time... I'm sure I saw the his clock on 00:00. But the program says that I lost the game because of the time.
I don't know what happened but chess.com is not working properly.
