Opponents move not showing up

it looks like they're running out of time and then I found out they've made a move I didn't see and then I run out of time

this has happened several times now in winning positions

what is happening here?

They are pissed off that you are winning, so they wait until they think you're looking away and sneak in a move.

Maybe you were not paying attention on the moves and you thought it was your opponents move but it was actually your move.

1)  I do have sound on and I am closely watching for a move--lately I've been using the reset and sometimes it shows up that way--but this only happens when I have a winning position and close to end of the game and I have to guess what's going on because opponent is taking more time than normal

2)  I made another forum topic about this in technical support because I thought they might have an answer

Again this makes me think it is your opponent trying to mess with you.

The OP is describing a real problem with lag that chess.com's system is vulnerable to. It happens to me as well, and has nothing to do with me winning or losing. Worse is when my move is held up, and my clock is running without me knowing it: (1) I make the move, (2) my clock stops, (3) nothing happens ... nothing ... nothing ... 10 seconds later, a move I made instantly takes 10 seconds off my clock. And soon I lose the game on time, because the problem tends to continue.

But do go on, treat the OP like he's a child who is incapable of detecting an anomaly.

Still happening as of February 2022.

Same problem on 2022-3-19 in my daily game with a friend. He showed screenshot of his move. We both only have the single game going. Why don’t I see his move after waiting an hour and we’ve already moved successfully several times? 

PLEASE FIX.  

Happened to me this moment at bullet match. It shows that their time is winding down to zero but nothing happens but after I refresh I just saw I lose.

Just happened to me. Blitz game with 3 and a half minutes left. And I was sitting there wondering why they aren't making a move 😕

STILL HAPPENING... it happen to me a few times, just happend and made me lose against an opponent rated 100 points above me, and yet I was winning the entire time completely, just to lose on time when my clock wasn't running!

I haven't had one of these happen since I made a point to frequently logout, clear everything privacy-wise in Chrome except my passwords, force stop Chrome, reopen Chrome, login, *chess notifications YES*.
