I think that the only way would be using the coach features as "analyses board".Would be great to have a distinct feature but I do not think that exists.
Play training positions with clock ?

Unfortunately not at the moment I believe. Alternative way would be to set time control to 6|0 or 11|0 and blitz out the moves to starting position.

@Msc 157: people would need to premove a lot and play.Should exist something easier.Does ICC has?
I think you can do that on ICC, but not in an easy way. Will have to check.
edit : it's possible - I managed to do it with BlitzIn

Yeah, hicetnunc. If you have a student who doesn't belong to ICC, you can also do it on FICS, via a similar method to the one you found using Blitzin.

Lauri, people aren't talking about having rated games from set positions, they're talking about setting up positions and playing them out with a clock.

As opposed to starting from a standard or an ECO position when you can only use Books and Engines to cheat. I see what you mean.

Yes, and that feature can be used as the Cheating Tool.
Unrated position practice can be used for cheating?

More easily after the set-up-feature created. If takebacks used, no trails left in Game Archive. You just need a strong "opponent".
But who cares what people are doing in unrated games? I'm not seeing how this affects anybody. Perhaps I'm missing something?

Hello,
Is it possible to play training positions with a set time control in live chess with a premium friend ?
Say I have a FEN and want to train the position with my friend at 5/0 or 10/0 for example. Can we do that ?
I think that'd be a great feature.
The "computer workout" sucks quite a bit for endgame training because the computer doesn't play human moves, and also, will judge a tablebase loss or draw as lost or drawn, and will often not try to fight back (because all moves appear equal to it). I can't remember the exact position, but there's one Rook and pawn endgame in the workout where one is supposed to use a technique to win the pawn, but the computer just abandons the pawn on its first move. It seems like the computer knows it has lost (or drawn) and wants to go hit the bar.
So it'd be great to be able to play such positions against humans.

I am already having the feeling here, someone is milking cheating tips.
I shall delete my comments. And You should delete the previous quotes of it, David.

Laughable !
You object to a feature which others think useful on the grounds that 'it can be used for cheating.' Then, when challenged to justify your objections, you realise you can't because they were just groundless. Then you spit the dummy out and delete the evidence!
LOL
