Question on rating

Hello, I was wondering if someone could answer this: I play someone, their rating shows as 1696, say. I win the game (blitz), and their rating falls to 1626. We play again, and their rating falls to 1576. How on earth is this calculated??

Yeah might but it's not that simple 2000 might not go up at all, 1000 might go up to 1950. Depends on the amount of games, interval, winning streak.
