Yes, if you lose connection to Live Chess during a game it is possible that you might be forfeited from the game even if it is a long game and you reconnect before your time running out. Please understand that our developers are continually working to improve the stability and connection to Live Chess for our players.

When I was playing a live game, i was on move 13, a normal position, when my internet connection was interrupted. Later, when I reconnected about a minute later, I was announced lost. The time controls were 5 + 3 and I had about five minutes left.
