I played a lot of chess in Jr. High school. Had a USCF rating of 1835 when I stop playing in 9th grade. When did Notation changes occur ? I started playing again about two months ago ( I'm 56 years old). The decades of not playing is really noticeable as I make many stupid moves. Has anyone out there done a long layoff of the game and got back into it? How long does it take to start playing well again? Are there good to great senior citizen players out there? It's been frustrating.
