"Self-Analysis" past game during a live tournament

Was playing in a live tournament, we were waiting on the next round (So what I intended wasn’t delaying anyone). In a previous round my then opponent got dropped from the server and lost on time. They asked my opinion via chat if I thought it was a winning or drawing position. I went into self-analysis to have a look up the game and play on a few moves. I got a popup saying that the analysis was against chess.com rules and got dropped out of the tournament. Can’t understand why, it wasn’t like the game being analysed was current. Also, why is self-analysis available when the live tournament is going on if it’s not to be used to analyse past games?

Thanks, Steven

If you have a session open to Live while on an analysis board or game review, you'll get the warning message, which is mostly informational. I'm not aware of it removing you from the event in such a case. Though, if the live interface is not active and in focus when the round pairs, you won't get paired.

Thanks for the reply, it took me out all together, not just skipping a round. I won’t do that again! :)

I think the reason why this happens is if you have analysis while playing a game you could replicate the moves and "cheat"
