lol
Sigh. Was so and so a good sport?
They should have a big thumbs up or thumbs down popup after every move your opponent makes, asking you whether it offends your sensitive nature or not and they can use it to mail boxes of tissues to people.
It does seem like everyone feels that sensitivity is very important. Some people feel sensitive when their opponent is unpleasant, other people feel quite sensitive that chess.com inserted a line of text in a dialogue box to try to reduce unpleasantness felt by some people in games.
All in all, it's nice to see everyone opening up about their feelings and coming to terms with the sensitive side of their nature ![]()
I have only played like 18 or 19 games on Chess.com, but I see WAY too many snowflakes whining in the in-game chat saying, "why am I losing?", or "that's unfair!", but my personal favorite is "Why did you take my Queen, you ********", to which I responded, "I want to win this game". That dude got a down vote after than game from me. Does Chess.com have a Mute Setting for the in-game chat and I am just blind and not see it, or do they not have one, because a Mute Setting would make my games a little better.
You can turn off in-game chat in your settings for all live games, I did it many years ago. I assume you can also disable it per game, but since mine is permanently auto-disabled I couldn't say for sure.
Less than 1 in 100 of my opponents says anything at all.
Whenever people complain about what goes on in chat I have to think they're the ones who start it.
that sounded like a threat. the bunny is terribly offended & may need to report you.

but that would remove 20% of the whine topics here. no, this is chess.com.

The question should be changed to "were you a good sport?" You can't control what other people do only yourself. Chess.com should encourage everyone to become better rather than encouraging us to criticize each other.
Apparently, if you get tagged as a poor sport enough times, it means you will only be playing against others who have been tagged poor sport a certain amount of times. Though people can have some very weird conceptions of what "poor sport" entails. "Oh my God my opponent didn`t let me develop properly, what a poor sport" or "My opponent was being rude to my poor queen", or what have you. We live in a very peculiar world, letting the unwashed masses decide who is a poor sport is about as smart as letting them decide which crazy populist will get to ruin their country next.

A chess.com member of staff has said at the moment they are doing nothing with it, though that may change, or may even have changed since he posted it.
So if people vote that I am a poor sport because I am playing rather slow (which I am totally allowed to I guess), it is gonna affect me? Nice lol
"A chess.com member of staff has said at the moment they are doing nothing with it".
So no, it isn't going to affect you because they are doing nothing with the data.

if you believe nothing will be done with the data, you are quite naive. as with the stupid red banner anytime someone posts the word "sh!t", it is all recorded.
did you see that facebook recently agreed to a $5 billion fine? they agreed.
think about that for a minute. how can fb afford that? hmmm.... and, how much money do you think they make selling people's information to be able to agree to a $5 billion fine and move on as if nothing happened? as we get back to cc, see the similarities?
Yes, I see that chess.com will be selling data about how 'sporting' players are to external companies who will be fascinated by such information...
your acquiescence is what they are counting on! you are now on board. no worries about any information they collect. it's all safe

do you not think an algorithm like this is another way to gather information about you?
how old are you?
