Slow response while playing blitz

Hi there,

my response time on chess is absolutely slow.... i mean my computer's. I wld play my move and then wait for my opponent to play nd when he/she plays the move i notice that my clock has skipped a second or two meanwhile.... this happens very regulary...... been loosing on time alone.... any solutions?

What browser and operating system are you using?

Windows7 ...Chrome...

Have you tried clearing your browsing data (under tools menu in chrome)? 

i have cleared the browsing data..... tried cleaning disk.... tried defragging the comp..... 

Are you using wifi or a wired connection? Any plugins on the browser or any other programs running in the background?

it is a wifi connection with no plugins running

It's always the same question: What browser and OS are you using?

I'm using Google chrome now because that's supposedly the one recommended here. I've cleared my cache.

And still.... 

I make a move, my opponent's clock starts ticking down. I make a premove, write something in the text box (it shows up) and then suddenly my opponent's move shows up and I LOSE on time! The whole time, my OPPONENT'S lag is showing to be bad and I have "excellent (low lag)."

This is absolutely frustrating!

@Pramod_V- If you're noticing your computer is running slow it may be because of low memory on the computer itself. Any programs running in the background (whether they access the internet or not) may contribute to this issue. 

@SmslovFan- Are you on Windows? Do you have an anti-virus or firewall installed at all? Any other programs that are able to interfere with your connection?
