Maybe some will mock at me, but i adjust my ranking to make it the same it was before the boost.
That´s sandbagging and it´s against the rules.

You're breaking the rules.
EDIT: 2 slo'.
Didn't think about that, but i consider is more fair earning these points with victories than with a ''magic'' boost.
But if everyone got a boost, you'll still be playing people of the same relative strength.
So if you sandbag your way down to your old rating, you won't really be "earning" the points back, because those people at your old rating will actually be weaker players than you....I think.
It only depends on who i challenge, if i challenge players stronger than me then is ok, last time i checked chess.com give the opportunity to set the rating of who you want to play.
After they "fixed" the pairings system it became almost impossible to play only with higher rated players.
You can set the rating ranges, but you won´t get paired.
(but it still will be against the rules anyway)
chess.com evry day send mail, massage and even important (!) massage to say make yourself a perimum member. but for things like this never bother himself.
True, Onion343.
But I think part of what this boost shows is that the rating is arbitrary, since it is subject to changes unrelated to game performance. They could change it back tommorrow, or give us another boost.
The ratings primary purpose is to pair us with similar skill-level players. Not to give us some objective rating that we can feel good or bad about.
So if the boost occurs across the board, it still serves that purpose.
I've been trying to get back to my best ever rating of 1510 and now I'm there. Whoa, am I dreaming? Good things come to those who wait. Going to celebrate.
This is completely OPPOSITE of reality!
Most people on the internet are WAY higher rated than in reality. I know people that were 2000 here but are nowhere near 2000 in reality OTB. They are more like 1800 ELO.
So why even boost even higher?? This doesn't make any sense! Who are they trying to please?
It's not the opposite of reality when it comes to Live Standard on chess.com. What you're describing might be true of another site, or it might be true of an "Online Chess" or blitz rating. The only ratings affected by this boost are Live Standard.
I also did not get a boost. It seems unfair to my opponents.
It does seem so. However, going purely on self-interest, it would be worse for me to see a silly rating every time I logged in.
And it might get worse. After hearing about the boost yesterday, I went seeking games with boosted players. My rating went from 1748 to 1830 in about 5 games (courtesy of Glicko, it's such a smart system), so the boost would put me in the 2200's if applied now. I would be mortified and feel obliged to quit the site. So there you go chess.com, if you want to get rid of me you need only apply the boost.
Maybe some will mock at me, but i adjust my ranking to make it the same it was before the boost.
