I'm a beginner and finally got to 504 playing 20-minute rapid games. I would go up or down 7 or 8 points after a match. I thought I'd give a bullet game a try. I lost since I didn't know what I was doing. My opponent had a similar rating to mine. After the one loss, my rating dropped 114 points! What?!
