the meaning of the 'red seek'

I've seen lots of green seeks, but only infrequently a red seek.  I've played games starting with both and I'm not noticing any difference.  Is there a difference?

red means your getting challenged.

And, I've clicked 'red seeks' perhaps a dozen times now, with no result.

What's up with that?
