There is no way to turn off Live Chess Stockfish for relayed games.

Hi Chess.Com

I'm watching grand prix games on Live Chess. And there is a running Stockfish by default. When you try to turn of evaluation and lines it still continues to run, uses high CPU and RAM and makes my laptop fan noisy. It uses too much resources without asking me first. Please immediately change this. It appears to be a "feature" but it's annoying and ruining the chat experience. I much prefer analysing myself and interacting with the chat. I correct when the weaker players miss a tactic, and I love when stronger players correct my mistaken move suggestions. When I enter one of these games, the PC goes wild. Please add an option to permenantly disable it!

It is just unacceptable, harvesting our CPU time without permission!

dr-Furkan

you can turn off at the bottom ''game'' button, then off evaluation

dr-Furkan

but i think at the start of the game, the computer evaluation must be off. it must be OPTIONAL by players! cuz we cant thinking myself

This is ridiculous! I don't need to hear my computer's fan going nuts just to run chess.com's evaluation.

... and I do not see the button for turning this off.

Yes, please make it an option. It's ruining our chess experience. Thank you!

Yes we can turn it off.... but we have to turn two items off, EVERYTIME ! And that's not the real problem.... we should be ASKED to have it on !

It has been fixed - the games now start with Eval off by default. Thank you, staff.

No, it is not! Still on for me..... anybody else?

Nebber_Agin

They keep changing it. It's now ON when you log in; however, once you turn it off it stays off ... until you log off.

No it is not.... I've turned both off.... then I just came here to see the last message. When I got back at the game, the settings were both ON ! Are you guys using a different site? Cause this one did not changed a bit about this problem.
