Forgetting? In the last 50 games you have played, from yesterday to the present, you've played white 30 times.
White-Black play
trysts: I had to abort dozens, perhaps hundreds, of games to get the recent ratio you cite. I have recently resolved to play only white when possible (I get tired of aborting more than 10 or 15 in a row and will occasionally play black).

I think Chess.com is going to start "flagging" people for aborting so much, if I remember correctly.

If color is randomly selected, then why do I get selected to play black about 80 percent of the time? This is no exaggeration. I counted 40 starts one day, and I was selected to play black 37 times (which, in this instance, works out to 92.5 percent). I am unable to find a way to choose to play white only (at least for a few times). This is very frustrating. I am almost always playing at a disadvantage. What am I doing wrong?
It is not supposed to be random. Whoever is more in need of White to even out from Black, gets White.
By aborting as Black you skew the ratio of White for yourself. It becomes harder to find an opponent even more skewed toward White than yourself.
Wins | Losses | Draws | Games | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Total | 2458 (42) | 3174 (54) | 272 (5) | 5904 |
White | 1316 (44) | 1578 (52) | 130 (4) | 3024 (51) |
Black | 1177 (40) | 1631 (55) | 144 (5) | 2952 (50) |
Play Black for awhile to even out the ratio. Once the ratio evens out, see if the site's code starts to give you White 50% of the time.
