This is very interesting.
Have you tried contacting the chess.com staff and reporting it?
Maybe because you guys didn't move for a long time?
A bug?
I don't actually know the answer but I do recommend contacting support staff.
Hope this helps!

I should have said the warning came up after a few seconds - it wasn't a case of not moving for a long time. I will contact support. Thanks
I am new to Chess.com. What are the rules for Live Chess? I know we have ten minutes to finish a game but is there a time limit to make a move? If so, what is it and where does it so advsie on your web page? I do not understand why I have lost due to "time" when I am only 4 mintues into a game. Thanks

If you take more than half of your starting time in a single move in the first ten moves, the game abandons. https://support.chess.com/article/338-how-does-game-abandonment-work
Is there a way to extend the time before the game auto aborts?? Both my grandfather and I only had one minute per move. Way too short. How do you contact support?
Hey guys! There is currently no way to change after how many minutes it auto-aborts. If you think this should be a feature, I recommend making a suggestion! You can do this at the bottom of your menu bar (left side of your screen). This is what it looks like:
Same for 60 minutes games. At least, it should let both players agree on a maximum time per move. It is not a real slow chess if we are rush to play within 1 minute our moves.
I chose a 60min per move game but the abort feature makes me play ever 1 minute anyway so no point really. Even with a friend, I can't disable the auto abort. Unrated game also uses aborting feature.
The only way to overcome this is by playing "daily" chess... But I played some players who also let there game running out of time even this way. At least, it should reset the timer once the mouse of the player is moving. This is saying that he is in front on his computer, thinking (or just moving the mouse... ).
When I tried to play my usual Standard game of 120 minutes today with a friend the interface looked different.
And AFTER the first moves by each player it said the game would auto abort in a minute each time
we tried to play. Can anyone explain please ? Thanks
