Looks like your opponent ran out of time but you did not have enough material to checkmate, so it's a draw.  The rules above do not include all the speed chess rules.

ok, i didnt know this rule. SORRY!

nevertheless i wish this rule can be changed.

My opponent threw away A LOT OF changes to make me checkmate. He was not able to finish the game early, although he had an BIG advantage. Why he get 0,5 points, although it is a game "running out the clock"? its not fair.

You really think it would be fair to give you a win when all you have left is a lone King ?!  I certainly do not .

holzhaus, I looked at your game and you're correct about how many chances he had to checkmate you - think about like this - you were dead lost but you were able to save a half point.

Why this injustice?

You think you should have been awarded the win when you just had your king left? If you had, say, a pawn, or a rook, or some sufficient material to checkmate, and your opponent ran out of time, then you would have won. However, you had no way to defeat your opponent (having a lone king) so if wouldn't be fair to give you the win. Your opponent couldn't have scored a win either, since they ran out of time, while failing to checkmate you. So, the only other possible outcome? The game is a draw. Smile

Titles do not mean much. There are untitled players who play extremely strong chess.

I do know how to mate (blindfolded) with Bishop and Knight, though...

But you clearly lack skill at the tricky lone king mate.

I thought its a game "running out the clock", but obviously i have been mistaken.

On this site you need KP to run your opponent out of time. (KN and KB and KNN not enough even if there is a possibiity of a helpmate  http://blog.chess.com/webmaster/live-chess-gets-some-love)

OTB not allowed any time, if your opponent knows the rules.

He may claim on the basis:

b) that his opponent has been making no effort to win by normal means.
