Good for you for being humble enough to learn chess from your seven year old grandson. Just ignore any negative comments.
can't fathom why when I make a mistake, some players (only a few mind you) put very insulting comments on my chat space.
I suspect (and hope) that you'll see less and less of this kind of stupid behaviour as you play with higher ranking players. Everybody makes mistakes http://www.chess-poster.com/videos/kasparov/kasparov_1/kasparov_blunders.htm ;-)
If not, there is always "disable chat" option, which I use whenever the opponent is writting anything but harmless chat (but I prefer them to keep silent as I need to concentrate).
