Your favourite time control?

I jump between 5/5, 2/1 and 15/10 on this site, the other site has 5/3, I tried out custom 5/5 then I learned 5/5 is rapid!

I find it odd 5/5 is categorized as rapid. I’ll have to play 5/3 for that.

I think 5|5 is considered Quick in USCF games, because it can be as long a 10 min Rapid?

Lately, that is my favorite time control 😃

15|10 is the best time control.
There is enough time to play good chess.
Thanks to the increment you can always win a won position or draw a drawn position.

I play a lot of 3|0 blitz, but if you want to think/improve, 15|10 is the way to go, it has plenty of time, and there is almost 0 chance of flagging due to the 10 second increment. However, I play 3|0 because it's quick, it teaches you to find tactics fast, and you have to mind your time, 3 minutes is not much

My serious games are 15/10, I would lull at times so I revisited 5/5 and rated puzzles to work on my pattern recognition, middle game plans and strategies.

10+0 and 3+0 sometimes 1+0

45+45 but it is hard to find an opponent online for that time control. I also like 3+2. I don't like 15+10 but I play it because that's the longest time control where I can get a match consistently.
