A composition

I composed a puzzle inspired by a tactic that came up in an OTB game yesterday that didn't quite work (I had to make it work somehow tongue.png)!  I'd love some feedback; I would like to compose more if I can figure out how haha

You did everything right! Including that you figured out how to compose. Just by examining the positions and thoughts you had during your games or the games of others or the puzzles of others. And you made the most important step to modify what you saw into something better, a workable puzzle. Most players on this site are so addicted to the games of chess that they refuse to adapt actual game positions to the requirements of a puzzle. They are on the wrong forum. Puzzles are a separate activity and it owes nothing to game chess! Finally, it is also a good puzzle and it stopped at the right moment. Kudos!

Why doesn't chess.com have a heart react for comments like this? Thanks happy.png I guess I'll just make puzzles in the same way in future when I get inspired by a game!

You're welcome! If you continue to like composing you may wish to expand your scope in the future. Most countries have communities of problemists engaging in many different types of chess compositions. There is even a World Federation of composers which cooperates closely with FIDE.

That's for later, I guess.
