Mate in 2.

To avoid a string of easy's and firsts, I'm not giving the solution, please post your solution if you find it : )

Lord-Chaos

wow i amazed even myself for spotting this so fast. is it Qe3?

Lord-Chaos

well the 1st move anyway, then a lot of forced mates in 1 after.

rooperi

Qe3? Bxf5! no mate... sorry....

Lord-Chaos

oh yeh whoops didnt see that. might have to be on that diagonal though, lemem think a bit more...

Lord-Chaos

im pretty sure you don't move the queen....

Crazychessplaya

I suspect the zugzwang-motivated Qa8 could do the trick...

rooperi

Ok, this is interesting, a rare inaccuracy by Sam Loyd. Mate in 3...... but there are 2 solutions, can you find both?

Lord-Chaos

NO we cant. lol

Crazychessplaya

This is hard...

rooperi

OK, say if you want the solution....

Lord-Chaos

well ive tried every knight move, some queen and some bishop moves. but im pretty sure you gotta move the queen behind a piece or somin... and we really need to cut on the main escape route d6, which Kd6 will allows c7 and e7, NEW escape squares. its the same with the others, but im sure this one along with the others, the solution will deal with them all.
