#172. You think it is a Win for a White?? After 1.Rg6?
What is an Ideas behind right way?
AWARDCHESS, how do you expect me to go 'deeper' into a drawn position? If it's a draw, no-one can get anywhere, so it's slightly useless to try to make headway.
I just asked to prove the statement of Draw or Win by Variants!
Sometimes it happen not on 1 or 2 moves, so it is hard to real Find it out, How the Draw or Win can be done...Unique ways lead to Gold Pot on some of these positions...
"Look deep under the Root!" Kozma Prutkov
Yeah, but I sort-of deduced the answers from my knowledge of basic endgame positions, which I don't consider puzzles and don't really want to spell out...
Are we going to get some new ones soon?
#194: 1. a3 Kf2 2. a2 Ke3 3. Bb1 and black uses his extra pawn to create complications on the kingside, thus promoting on one side or the other...
#195: He did?? I sure don't know how!
#196: 1. Rf3! Draw.
#197: Are we going for a draw? If not, no idea. If we are, then putting the rook on the third rank and keeping it there should secure that.
#198: I think it's wrong. I've always thought a queen vs. rook pawn on the 7th is a draw. For example, 1. g6 a4+ 2. Kxb4 a3 3. Kxa3 h3 4. g7 h2 5. Kb3 (not g8=Q with a draw) Kg1 6. g8=Q+ Kh1 and I don't think white wins here.
#199: White draw. I'm pretty sure he can pull one out of the bag, dancing the bishop around as long as it controls c3...
#200: The sad fact that a c- or f-pawn is a draw on the 7th I believe applies:
1. Qb4+ Ka2 2. Qc3 Kb1 3. Qb3+ Ka1! and white can't take the pawn due to stalemate...
#173. Black plays 1...Kd2. Is it OK?
or 1...Kd3- is it OK?
